When to go & what to see

March - April – May: Black Truffle Fair in Norcia
Last weekend of February and first weekend of March 2021. In the town of Norcia, an unforgettable trade show dedicated to the Norcia Black Truffle (Nero di Norcia), a celebration of delicious products from the pristine land of Italy. This fair is the largest agricultural event in Umbria with more than 100 exhibitors of mountain food including: truffles, Porcini mushrooms, pecorino cheese, prosciutto and more.


International Dance Week & Competition in Spoleto
April dates TBA. For a week, the town of Spoleto becomes the world capital of dance where performers come from 15 countries to compete before a jury of international dance masters. The Ballet Exhibition and the final awards ceremony make this competition one of the most attractive art events in Umbria.
Calendimaggio in Assisi
May 5-8, 2021. A re-enactment with flowers and flags that decorate the city of Assisi. A historical procession of medieval costumes, street theatre, songs, choirs, concerts, dances, and performances by archers, crossbowmen and flag-wavers.


Spoleto Festival
June 25-July 11. Known in Italy as the Festival dei Due Mondi, founded in 1957, this renowned festival attracts visitors from all over the world to the beautiful town of Spoleto. This popular event features an array of cutting-edge drama, concerts, opera, dance, and visual arts. (Check out our package tour).
Umbria Jazz in Perugia
From 9 July to 18 July: July 9-18. This ten-day music festival is a must for the lover of jazz featuring the best Italian and International jazz musicians performing in public squares, streets, and big arenas. (Check out our package tour).


Mercato delle Gaite in Bevagna
June17-21, 2021. One of the most fascinating medieval festivals in Italy takes place in the town of Bevagna. An authentic experience of the Middle Ages and the glorious past of this town. Giostra della Quintana in Foligno
June dates TBA. A centuries-old horse and jousting tournament that commemorates the rituals of the ancient knighthoods and noble royalty. This spectacular horse competition includes a procession of 800 characters in baroque costumes.


Infiorata di Spello
June 6, 2021. Celebrating the Corpus Domini, the enchanting medieval streets of Spello are adorned with carpets of colourful flowers and floral paintings. The beautiful sights and scents of flowers is a wonderful experience to enjoy with family and friends. (Check out our package tour).
Festa della vendemmia a Montefalco
Harvest Fair, September 19, 2021. An exciting Sunday for locals and visitors celebrating the grape harvest in a traditional parade of old chariots pulled by animals or vintage tractors along the main streets of the town of Montefalco. Partake in the abundant food and drink to enjoy the most rural traditions in Umbria.


Ottobre Trevano in Trevi
End of September – End of October. A month of events hosted by the enchanting hilltop town of Trevi. Includes the Palio dei Terzieri, a Medieval Quarters Tournament and Festival devoted to the famous local olive oil. Frantoi Aperti – Olive-mill Feast
The Association of Umbria Olive Oil Routes celebrates the harvest of olives with the opening of olive mills located throughout the region. Every weekend is a wonderful opportunity to taste the new olive oil production with bruschetta and grilled sausages. If you have never tasted authentically fresh Italian olive oil, you will not want to miss this flavourful treat for the taste buds


Eurochocolate in Perugia

St. Francis Day in Assisi & Franciscan celebrations
Oct 4 – for a month. The famous town of Assisi and all Umbrian towns will honour Italy’s Saint Patron, St. Francis, and follow his spiritual heritage of a new Universal Brother-and-Sisterhood. The main basilicas house important religious symposiums and Assisi becomes the centre of a New Christianity. Christmas Holiday
